We have lots of fun doing bathroom renovations at TLC Inc. In fact, it’s one of our favorite jobs. That’s because a bathroom renovation – relatively small project though it is – can make a big impact on improving a family’s quality of life.
That’s not really surprising when you think about it. After all, bathrooms are pretty important rooms!
One thing we’ve noticed is that many customers go for light, bright colors when planning their bathroom renovations. That’s smart, because bathrooms are typically small rooms. They can feel sort of closed-in and dark. Light colors make bathrooms seem brighter, and more open and airy.
That’s why it’s not surprising that an article on The Learning Channel website recently recommended these colors as top choices for bathroom renovations:
Yellow
It’s easy to go overboard with yellow, and end up with a room that’s garish rather than bright. But by exercising moderation and picking just-right shades, a yellow-themed bathroom can be delightfully cheery.
If you have a bathroom that’s lacking in natural light, yellow can be a particularly excellent choice.
Lavender
Once considered the color of royalty, a purple theme can lend a regal feel to a bathroom. Going heavier on purple shades can make a bathroom seem more feminine, while mixing in some complimentary colors such as bronze or copper can move it toward the masculine.
Aqua
How about a bathroom that feels like a tropical getaway? An aqua-themed bathroom can provide just that. Mix in some green hues with the blue, and you might feel like you’re on a Caribbean vacation when entering your bathroom.
Bronze
A bronze-themed bathroom can offer the sense of an intriguing combo of both rustic and modern. And bronze is also considered a gender-neutral color, making it a great choice for a couple that shares the room equally. Bronze also offers the benefit of compatibility with both light and dark cabinetry.
Coral
For a bathroom that’s all hers, coral can be a great choice for a bathroom color theme. The pink theme is decidedly feminine. And adding some touches of gray, such as around mirror frames or countertop sinks, can help to create a rather classic look.
